There have been days where I have craved for some amazing pizza rolls but just could not considering how oily they can get.
Deep fried foods taste amazing but they are not that healthy and you try to avoid them as much as you cane especially if you are trying to Lose weight.
Not anymore, with this Air Fryer recipe, I have been enjoying pizza rolls any time of the day and if you are someone like me who loves them then you definitely want to grab your air fryer and get started with cooking these healthy pizza rolls!
Why the Air Fryer Pizza Rolls?
While deep frying you are using cups of oil to deep fry something. In case of an air fryer, you are just using 1-2 tbsp of oil for the entire batch which really speaks volumes on how effective cooking with an air Fryer can be!
If you have never cooked with an air fryer, then I urge you to get one of these air fryers from Philips which I personally love so that you can cook recipes without any issues.
This air fryer is probably the best out there as you have no problems like the non stick coating coming off the base, which is a very common issue within most of the air fryers out there!
So, without wasting anymore time lets get started with this easy Pizza Rolls recipe that would just take you about 5 minutes to prepare and around 10 minutes to cook inside the air fryer.
Now depending on how thick you roll out the dough, you might have to cook it for longer but in an overall cook time of not more than 15 minutes you are good to go with these pizza rolls.
I usually cook them at 370 degree Fahrenheit and it could be different for different air fryers but most of the time it should be around the same termperature.
– Minced Meat of your choice
-Salt and pepper
– Italian seasoning
– Wanton Wrappers
Start with putting the onions and butter in a pan and try to sauté it till the onions are transparent. This would take about 5 minutes and once you are there add the minced meat and sauté it till it cooks well with the onions.
Now, once you feel that the meat is cooked, add the marinara sauce, seasonings and add some cheese. This would add a lot of flavour to the meat and bind it all together making a delicious filling for your pizza rolls.
Once you are done with this, next, you need to let this mixture cool and take wanton wrappers or you can make them yourself at home using some flour dough or rice flour dough incase you are gluten intolerant.
Now take these wrappers in small squares and brush them with oil so that they get crisp while they are cooked inside an air fryer.
Put the filling inside these wanton wrappers and just fold them in half and seal them by pressing the corner. Now place these pizza rolls indside the air fryer and cook them at 370 Fahrenheit for about 8 minutes and them just turn them around and cook for another 4 minutes.
You can cook it longer in case you think that your dough is not yet cooked perfectly.
If you are making the wanton wrappers yourself then make sure to cook it longer because the homemade ones can be thicker and might take longer to cook.
The best way to know how long to cook is to check after the 7 minute mark and see how much of the cooking is done!
The Pizza Rolls are done and ready to serve. It just took a few minutes to make them and they are healthy and delicious!
Storing the Pizza Rolls
If you plan on storing the Pizza Rolls, you can do that as well! I put mine in the refrigerator and they last for about 2 days. I usually consume them within 48 hours because they are too delicious to resist.
However, if you think that you want them to be hot whenever you have them then storing is the best option. You an even cook them when you are hosting guests at your place as they are quick and easy to make.
